After 28 years of service, Meir retired from the army at the rank of colonel, having worked in logistical and managerial areas. Among his main positions: Logistics Officer of the Central Command, and Commander of the Center for Logistics Training. He serves to this day in active reserve duty, in charge of emergency logistics in the Central Command, and as an evaluator in the staff for evaluating officers up for promotion to lieutenant colonel.
Meir has been the Director General of the Karnei Shomron Local Authority for the past three years, is an active member of the board of the Karnei Shomron Community Center, is a member of the Directorate in the Karnei Shomron Economic Corporation, and served for several years as a substitute for the company's Director General.
Meir's digital vision is providing a quality digital service to residents and creating a digital environment for work in the authority.
מאיר השתחרר לאחר 28 שנות שרות בדרגת אלוף משנה בצה"ל. בצבא עסק בתחומים הלוגיסטיים וניהוליים. בין תפקידיו המרכזיים: קצין הלוגיסטיקה של פיקוד המרכז, מפקד המרכז לאימונים לוגיסטיים וכן משמש עד היום בשרות מילואים פעיל כאחראי על הלוגיסטיקה בחרום בפיקוד המרכז ומעריך בצוות הערכת קצינים לדרגת סגן אלוף.
מאיר מנכ"ל מועצה מקומית קרני שומרון מזה כשלוש שנים, חבר ופעיל בהנהלת מתנ"ס קרני שומרון, חבר דירקטוריון בחברה הכלכלית קרני שומרון ושימש כממלא מקום מנכ"ל החברה למספר חודשים.
