Shimon Broner
Chief Information Officer, Ministry of Economy and Industry

Since 2006, Shimon has served as Senior Chief Information Officer in the Ministry of Economy and Industry, after having filled numerous professional and managerial roles there.
He is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University School for Practical Engineers, majoring in software engineering, has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Bar Ilan University, and a Master's Degree in Public Policy on the Track for Managers at Tel Aviv University. He is a graduate of a wide range of courses in computer and management fields.
Shimon is a member of the Government Forum of Chief Information Officers, and serves as Israel's representative in the ICA – the prestigious international organization of Chief Information Officers in governments that have reached a high and developed level of computerization – where until recently he served as World Chair. For over 30 years he has been active in Israel's organization of information systems analysts.
His digital vision is to provide an available, efficient, advanced and innovative computer environment to meet the needs of the Ministry's units and departments, while providing a comprehensive information systems solution that makes accessible all the services the Ministry provides its clients – citizens, corporations, companies, small and medium-sized businesses, exporters etc.
מנהל אגף בכיר למערכות מידע במשרד הכלכלה והתעשייה מאז 2006, לאחר שרות בתפקידים מקצועיים וניהוליים שונים.
בוגר ביה"ס להנדסאים באוניברסיטת תל-אביב במגמת הנדסאי תוכנה, בעל תואר ראשון בכלכלה מאונ' בר-אילן, ותואר שני במדיניות ציבורית במסלול למנהלים של אוניברסיטת תל-אביב, בוגר קורס פיתוח מנהלים בתחומי המחשב מהמרכז להשתלמות בניהול – אונ' בר-אילן, וקורסים מקצועיים רבים ביניהם: ניהול פרוייקטים, ניתוח מערכות, אבטחת מידע וכו'.
חבר בפורום המנמ"רים הממשלתי, חבר בוועדת התיקשוב העליונה שבמטה התקשוב הממשלתי ומשמש כנציג הממשלה בארגון ה- ICA שהוא ארגון בינלאומי יוקרתי של מנמ"רים בממשלות שהגיעו לרמת מיחשוב גבוהה ומפותחת. עד לאחרונה שימש בתפקיד היו"ר העולמי של הארגון וכיום ממשיך כנציג ישראל בארגון וכחבר הנהלה.
חבר פעיל בלשכת מנתחי מערכות מידע בישראל למעלה מ- 30 שנה וכיום חבר נשיאות הלשכה.
תושב תל אביב, נשוי, אב ל- 2 ילדים וסב ל- 4 נכדים.
